Sign-ups: September 2020
Sep. 6th, 2020 08:09 pmWe're a week into the month. That still counts after being out of commission for so long.
Per usual, you can either comment here or on the previous post for your goal for this month.
And current participants, don't forget to comment with your final December word count :)
You can always commit to a constant goal the whole year, if you find it easier than to comment every month. Just let me know and I'll add you to the list automatically.
Welcome! to those of you who are new. Here's what to do:
Sign up for what your goal in writing is for this month by commenting on this entry. For example, you could say you want to write a total of 10,000 words this month, or 100 words every Friday, or 100 words per week, or even 1 hour a day; whatever you feel most comfortable committing to.
*Please note* I will be calculating all pledges by the number of days in that month. For example, in June, there are 30 days. If you pledge 100 words a day, no matter when you pledged during the month, you will be accountable for 3,000 words:)
After we've compiled a few peoples' 'pledges,' I'll create a master post with the list of people and their goals.
Now, you are responsible for commenting to that master post with your word count by the end of the month or when you've reached your goal.
Once you've signed up, you can keep committing to this goal every month by stating so in your comment, or you can continue to comment each time a sign-up is posted. Of course, if you decide to change it, you're welcome to:)
We understand that people have lives, and that writing is not always easy when life gets in the way. But, if you want to challenge yourself and make writing a part of your daily life, this is a good way to start:)
Please comment if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you:)

Date: 2020-09-17 03:02 pm (UTC)For the remaining week and a half of September, I think I’ll just shoot for 500 words. Might bump the goal up in the future if I’m still active on Dreamwidth. For now, I’m not used to thinking in terms of word counts and it’s hard to judge my own pace—other than glacial as mentioned, hah.

Date: 2020-10-24 09:28 pm (UTC)I actually forgot to count the specific last week I mentioned, though I *am* fairly sure that I did indeed manage 500 words in that last week or two.
Full September Word Count: 5,849 words
October Word Count Goal: 3,000 words
I'm doing some art challenges this month, heh. Pretty sure I've been writing less as a result, and I'm not going to try to reverse that.
