thedailywriter. It was inspired by the mini_nanowrimo challenge that occurs every November, in which participants make a commitment to write 100 words per day every day in November. This community will serve as a place to encourage you to write every single day, whether it be 100 words or 1000 words, as long as you get something down on paper.
Even with our 3-year run over at Livejournal, we're still open to suggestions about new content and challenges. Currently, we offer monthly sign-ups where users commit to their desired word count goal. At the end of the month, they are accountable for commenting in with those word counts.
We see this as a place where people can come to be inspired, motivated, and supported, perhaps by quotes, images, discussion, or by asking for feedback or help getting through a challenge or writing block.
The community is friendly to all sorts of writing endeavors - fanfic, original fiction, creative nonfiction, school essays, whatever needs to be written, basically.
Please feel free to post any quotes, sites, images, songs, what-have-you so that we can be sure to have motivation EVERY day. Writing is hard, lonely work. Let's make it a little less so :)
